Here but Tired
The Pud has some sort of lovely stomach flu. Before I had her I was a sympathy puker and the thought of cleaning someone else's bowel movements made me want to hurl. Now, I find that I can handle the vomit (she only does it after taking medicine) and the many, many progressively worse diapers with no problem. What I can't handle is the simple fact that she is sick. I become the bundle of nerves and worry and am no fun to be around at all. I stress and stress until she is diagnosed and gets treated or just gets better on her own. Sometimes I take her to the doctor (like yesterday) and because of a past medical problem and a fever that peaked at 104 they perform unnecessary and painful tests that leave us both stressed and exhausted.
Luckily the test showed that she is most likely suffering from a simple virus. She has an appetite now so I hope she'll be her normal goofalious self this weekend. My father-in-law is coming in on Saturday, Saurabh's cousin came in yesterday and my mother is scheduled to fly in on the 22nd.
Did I mention that Saurabh is having surgery on Monday? It is not a major operation but the recovery is supposed to be long, painful and requires constant attention. I'm worried for my sweet husband and hope that I have the strength to take care of him and keep him healthy and in as little pain as possible.
