Illustration Friday "Simple"
A simple painting for a simple choice.
I have been reading my myths again. You can see an an earlier version of Persephone I submitted last year here. I think the snow makes me dream of spring and mystical things.
I have already thought of a few ways to improve this painting, look for an update later this week. With almost 500 entries for illustration friday on a Tuesday I get nervous and feel like I must post now, know what I mean?

Such vibrant watercolors here. Looks fine as it is. If only Spring would arrive sooner--it's quite a mystical time of year.
Yeah, know whatchya mean. But I really like this alot. it's so sweet and simple and lovely. i do love your work.
as always, I love everything you do...very nice (and I just watched an episode of the English spy show 'Spooks' or 'MI-5' as it is called here...the episode was entitled Persephone, which was a code name for one of the characters)
oh my!!! your style has definitely grown!!!!!!! that is soooo beautiful!! you really do have a roald dahl feel to some of your characters!!! girl, you work quick ;)
a beautiful and vibrant illo! i like how you have less black outlines than the original... soooo sophisticated!
looks fantastic! yes IF sure has grown and is a bit overwhelming.
Wonderful work.
this is beautiful, I love the pink in her cheeks :) btw I understand the whole IF pressure thing...LOL
Excellent. Love it. I agree about the IF thing-the last time I looked it was 628! Yikes! I remember when it was about 350 a week.
This is great. I can see how you're trying to capture that "essence of hair" we talked about. ;) She's fun and colorful. Fantastic. Have you seen Ruth's and Leezy's SCBWI notes? I think it's so cool that we all have feelings that are so similar.
I love this - the painting itself is wonderful; she looks very perplexed, and well she should! I also love the mythological topic. I know what you mean about IF. I can no longer browse through all the submissions and make comments. The biggest frustration is that sometimes I miss the bloggers I "know," because they get lost in that loooooong list. I'm going to put you on my blogroll...that should help!
That is so adorable. I LOVE her expression. :O)
Beautiful work as always! I just love the blue hand.
