Sketch to Finish
I like seeing sketches on other illustrator's blogs, so I thought I would share some of mine. My sketches are always messy and I find that my favorites go straight from a very loose sketch to the watercolor tablet. I prefer to work things over there, altering my lines until it feels right. These are all Illustration Friday inspired. I try to take the word and draw something related but different. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. (The squibbles are courtesy of the Pud, she now has her own sketchbook)
Here are a few:

the idea to put the photo on the fridge popped in my head as I was trying to figure out a composition where the image was tilted. this is one of my all time favorites.
Illustration Friday theme, Depth

this is a rare instance where the dragon came out pretty realized in my sketch, I like the look of the guy and the smug look on the dragon's face, but never felt it was portfolio worthy. (probably due to the lack of a colorful background but i was in a white paper mood that day)
Illustration Friday theme, Mischief

i am fond of this piece because of the look of the sub, i think she's hilarious. I'm not too fond of the colors though and think there could be more detail in the classroom.
Illustration Friday theme, Float
to:
This one came out better than I hoped, I like the watercolor sky and this is a best seller at vendor fairs.
