Illustration Friday "Sorry"
I drew this last week while waiting for the cable guy. It was originally for the angels and devils theme, but ran out of time and it seems to work better for sorry. I'm sure it will be a bit before it gets painted so here it is in mechanical pencil glory.

ha! courtney! I can just HEAR that baby scccrrrreaaaamin' with that tongue out there. And I rreally hafta laugh when I think it was originally drawn for "angels and devils" theme because I'm really second-guessing either one is the angel. Oh! Yes I who how the real angel is.. it's Grandma! :O)
How's your moving?
Awesome in pencils. And it's going to be even greater in colour.
Courtney, you have got an amazing talent with your style and colors. I love all your entries for IF, I looked at your web and read your bio. I find it hard to believe you don't have any books under your name yet. I enjoyed reading your experience at the SCBWI NY! I will be going to the Regional conference in Poughkeepsie June 10 and will have the opportunity to have a portfolio critique. So your experience will be helpful to me. Thank you and I wish you all the success you can get.
Great again! Can't wait to see it in color.
The faces are so funny!
I like your art a lot!
This is such a great scene! I can figure the whole story in an instant. If this was for angels and devils, I think both kids look a little on the devliish side... that baby scream is so...hmm..accurate looking! This will look fab in color, but it's great like this as well!
i know this is the question always asked... but....
ever try digital? your sketches alone are fantastic!!!!!! you can scan them in and color them in photoshop... and still work the same style you do with your paints...
Oh Courtney. Were you getting some cosmic vibe from me or something? This is my life. Screaming baby. Apologizing(maybe)pre-schooler. I wish I had money for every moment that looked and felt just like this. Great sketch. Can't wait to see it painted.
It's thanks to Ellia at Green Bean that I found you and wow. I'm blown away. I love your style. Just gorgeous.
This is so funny - i love all the expressions, especially the little girl. It will look amazing in colour, I can't wait to see it!
Damn. You just keep getting better and better. The composition and lines in this are FANTASTIC! So good, can't wait to see it in color.
