Project, Phase One
This (almost finished) piece is for the book I'm planning about Grandmas. It has been submitted to my critique group for suggestions but I am having issues.
I've always been supremely intimitated by the idea of writing so I'm happy that I am at least attempting this task. The book will be in a very simple format but I'm having a tough time with finding a flow. I am stuck, stuck , stuck. I think part of the problem is that no matter how hard I try, I cannot complete the story without working on the illustrations. As in, I get a few ideas and instead of working on finishing the text I must not only start but must also finish an illustration.
Then I want to work on more illustrations but cannot seem to finish the book. This in probably why I majored in Studio Art in school instead of English.
Is this normal and/or productive?

You know I love the grandmas! I'm not sure I have any advice/wisdom that will help you with your dilemma. However, I do know that a surge of creativity is never a bad thing. So, follow your whims...maybe it will lead you back exactly where you want to be. Good luck!
