We're Home
We flew in Thursday night. It's beautiful here, shades of red, yellow and orange everywhere. It is a fall feast for the eyes. My only sadness is for my sister, whom I miss terribly but know that she has a wonderful support group and that we'll see her soon. I'm looking forward to getting into the groove of the daily grind again. I plan to create as much as possible, send out postcards and put up a few paintings at my etsy shop. I'll also be going to the SCBWI Winter Conference in New York again this year. The hubby saw that registration was open this morning asked which classes I wanted and signed me up .
The excitement begins.

Fall is awesome, isn't it? Our tres aren't quite that colorful yet, but it's getting close.
I can completely relate to how you feel about your sister. Last fall, my sister went through a pretty severe postpartum depression and lived in a different town. On top of being hospitalized for several weeks, there was a newborn baby she couldn't care for. My mom and I were there as much as we could, but had to leave for a few days here and there and it was so hard. I know that's not the same as what your sister is going through, but my point is: Your being there for her, as much as you can and when you can, will mean more to her recovery process than you can possibly know right now. And she'll come through this and will be even stronger. But I know it's hard in the moment and almost impossible to see that things will get better.
On a lighter note, thanks for mentioning your Etsy shop. I love your style, but had no idea you were over there. Your banner is awesome and I hearted you :)
Happy fall,
KJ
Ah, I'm jealous! I wanted to go, but things did't work out that way. I'm gonna tell my wife how your hubby just went and sighed you up. Maybe she'll get the hint.
