Garden

In these hot days, there are few things that make me happy to be outside, these are one of them.

These are marigolds that I grew from seeds in our container garden. It was the most amazing thing to see them sprout, grow and bloom.

I also grew basil and this odd plant I picked up at Mt. Vernon. Now, if only I could grow tomatoes.

Those marigolds are magnificent! I am so impressed you grew them from seed in a container, I have to try that. I have grown tomoatoes from seed, though, and they are really easy and so much fun when you get to eat something you grew from a little grain. You just have to plant them super early, round about the end of January, otherwise summer ends before the tomatoes are ripening. I used to look out in the October freeze and see my poor little tomatoes out there and be too cold to even go and pick them.

I love your marigolds... and I hear ya about watching the flowers bloom. I enjoy them just as much.

Be well and thanks for the cheery thoughts.
