Harry Potter-Finished
(no spoilers)
As I stood in line at the crowded bookstore, and the clock ticked the minutes after midnight, I thought about how it would feel when it was over. When I read the last lines and closed the book, would I feel let down and a bit disappointed that the excitement had ended? Would I think that it was worth it to be pressed into the backs of large sweaty boys who considered showers to be optional?
The answer to both is yes. I'm glad I stood in line and became part of the phenomena that was created by a very talented and little lucky single mom. I'm glad that I held the book in my hands that night and the next day reading as often as my three year old would allow. (thank goodness for my sister and mom) And I do feel a bit sad that it is over.
My take on the actual story is that it was a page turner, breath holder, sometimes tear jerker. It kept me reading, stayed true to the characters and was a successful wrap-up. I even loved the last chapter but think it felt a bit rushed, I wish it had gone into more detail.
Now there are the movies to look forward to and other books.
Golden Compass anyone?

wow! i hope you don't catch a cold by the draft of flipping those pages so quickly! (I think it took me a year to read The Secret Life of Bees). Oh! Please don't tell anyone, 'k?
Seriously.. now I'm not only impressed by your wonderful art but now your ability to read books with a 3-year-old! :O)
