Bad days
You know that day when you get really bad news but you don't process it? You deal with the day to day details, just getting through the slog. You remind yourself everyday of the ways you are blessed, and they are enough to keep you from crying when it's quiet. But, then something tips the scales, something like an illness that just won't go away and that freaking hurts but you can't get into the doctor's office until after the weekend. So, you feel like crap, you think of nothing but the crap that is the bad news and you just wish for a bit of good news, of assurance that things will get better, that they will not get worse, please, just better and new and maybe a little different. You know that feeling? Yeah. me too.

Hi Courtney, am sorry to hear you are going through tough days at the moment. There is nothing really to say or do to make the bad news or pain go away faster except those old adages 'this too shall pass' and 'time heals all wounds'. (They're cliche, but they're cliche because they're so true.) I hope this negative period passes quickly for you.
Hang in there my friend xx
Sometimes, getting face-to-face with all the bad stuff can be...bracing. It can be like standing in a frigid wind entirely alone on an iceberg in the middle of a frozen sea bracing...but: you're facing it.
And if it makes you want to scream or climb under the covers, you do so--and that may be YOUR path to YOUR strength (which may only feel like despair with lots of stamina). But that is a kind of strength, a path of healing.
Yes, hang in there. And thank you for your illustrations, from a heretofore quiet fan.
Yep, I know the feeling. This is one of the reasons we paint using bright colors. Just Looking at your work helps make things better and new and different for me. Your sense of humor in your work is the cherry on the top.
